While having a broad background in Rome, I focus on the culture and politics of the early Empire - from the Julio-Claudians through the Severans.

I have interests in Ancient Greece and Ancient Egypt, and their convergence in the Hellenistic empire of the Ptolemies.

I am a student of classical pagan religions.

On a personal note, I love good food and am an avid beer drinker. I enjoy the countryside and love animals, especially dogs. I try to appreciate art and music, at least the classical epochs. I've been known to turn an eye to attractive young women.
