Friends and fellow scions of UNRV! I have a new job. Less hours, less work, more money, more responsibility. I'm happy in the new job, but where we work there is no TV coverage, no Internet, and no Cell Phone reception. These are minor trivialities really, because the job is on a tropical island building a new resort. It's a three month contract running a labour crew of twelve, a really easy gig bar the technological difficulties.

 

The major drawback is that I can't get to UNRV much these days, and I really miss visiting this site and giving arseholes to that reprobate Bathroom Attendant's Assistant, Gaius Octavius. You'll keep, Octavius! To my friend the lovely dianamt54, if she is reading this, we'll hook up again soon! And to Nephele, Lost Warrior and docoflove you're all class, ladies, and I will be back soon to lead your topics off thread! I miss the caustic wit of Moonlapse, the incredibly detailed knowledge of Faustus, and to Gaius Paulinus Maximus, 'Go The Rhinos!'

 

This weekend is to be spent with my kids. I've got a back pocket bursting at the seams with cash, all of it which will be spent mercilessly on trinkets, toys, video games and junk food. My lovely little girls and my boy are going to get spoilt ROTTEN. I can't wait! First stop, Dunkin' Donuts! After that I'm going to let children be my guides. It's all up to them where we go and what we do. Am I a madman? Yes, I freakin' am!

 

I shall return!

Congratulations on the new job, CS! Building a new resort on a tropical island? Wow, that's neat! Remember to take pictures!

 

Heyyyy... Maybe you can get us all summer jobs there when the place opens? Like in High School Musical 2! (We'll have "a hoop out back, two free meals a day, and we only have to wear these stupid outfits on duty!") GO can be in charge of handing out the towels in the steamroom (that's a promotion from bathroom attendant); dianamt54 can be hotel desk receptionist; LW, DoL and I can be lifeguards at the pool; Moonlapse can be in charge of the kitchen staff with Faustus as his sous-chef de cuisine (I learned that fancy phrase from watching Ratatoille); GPM can be in charge of sports activities for the guests -- and he gets to drive the funny little golf cart. (We'll have to think up more resort jobs for the rest of the UNRV crew.)

 

Seriously, I'm going to miss you terribly -- we all are -- for those three months you'll be gone. And I can just imagine how hard it'll be on you not to see your kids for those three months (if they don't let you off the island for visits). Have a very, very, very, very, cool weekend with the kids.

 

Will be thinking of you the whole time you're gone, and looking forward to your return.

Sounds like a dream contract, working less hours for more cash and the icing on the cake is it's on a bloody tropical island as well!!!

 

Have fun mate and try not to work too hard!

 

I'm sure your kids will cherish every moment of spending your hard earned cash, as I'm sure you will spending time with them.

Outstanding news about the job!

 

No offense, Neph, but I've been a lifeguard...I don't want that anymore. I'd rather play around in the water than watch the toddlers creep into the pool while mommy's too busy talking with her friends, instead of watching her yung'un practically drown. Nope, no thanks.

 

As for this tropical resort bit...I might have to take a trip down to KiwiLand!

Never mind, DoL. We'll put your language teaching skills to work instead, and give you this job as our resort's fitness instructor. :thumbsup:

Thanks for all of the messages guys. I've had an extended stay in New Zealand to tie some loose ends up, now it's back to Fiji. I'm going to miss you guys!
