Bomb Threats, Early Dismissals, And Searches...

Yesterday we got out of school...well...about 5 minutes early. They made an announcement that all after school activities were cancelled, and that all students were to exit the building on the bell. They then rang the bell five minutes early. We all knew something was wrong, but we were like, "what the heck, we ain't complainin'". I find out later that there was writing found in the bathroom saying something that the teachers found remotely threatening. Apparently, they were the only ones to find it threatening because I also heard that it had been there for close to two weeks before it was noticed. (I also heard another story, that a note was found along with several people's initials. ) I don't know exactly what happened, because they were reluctant to give any real information. I do know that they spent at least $1000 to fly in the K9 unit.

This morning we get to school, and there is a huge line at the door. They were searching everyone's backpacks and purses before they let them in the school (mind you, they didn't look terribly hard.) They seemed more concerned about cell phones than bombs (look out for that Verizon TNT. It's a new model :) I kid.) Basically, it was a big aggravation, (and a bit of a joke to the very annoyed students) but I really doubt they'll find anything. That's the way these things go...

I seriously hope this doesn't happen again. I'm not afraid, and as far as I know none of the students were either. It's just a major annoyance. I can't imagine what kind of ^&%&^ it would take to do such a thing...surely they only wanted to cause a disruption (some of us really ARE trying to learn. Plus, that K9 unit will probably come out of taxpayers' pockets.)

I AM going to start working on the research paper. (Unfortunately for me I tried to start it the week I had a whole slew of projects due and the like). If I don't report back with an update, smack me :)

I' love to say "I know what your talking about" but I can't, and don't care to. Sorry. Bomb threats are a major issue now though, and the gov't is taking them very seriously. Nothing ever happens at my school honestly. Heck, we've got a few wackos that are goth or what ever it is, I have no respect what so ever for them, so I figure if they get around to doing something (other than to themselves) it will be towards me and my lot. I'm prepared for that though, we don't keep the family farm around for nothing, come after me, I'll be a county away with a shack of rifles and enough ammo keep the table full of veniscene for the months to come.

I advise everyone else follow this idea and to be like me, that way when something insane happens, you can come over to my farm and we can hunt together....

Anyways, sorry to get off track. All I can say is that must of been a real annoyance. Fortunetly, we don't have to fly in the k9 unit...

I've just noticed that most bomb threats are fake, and by attention seekers only. It happened at my old school alot, (before I got there, but it always made the news so I knew) almost once a week they had one. Students had figured out that if they made a fake threat, they got out of school ::grumbles::

To be perfectly honest with you, I find this downright offensive, as my best friend at my school is pretty close to being "goth" or "punk" or whatever it is (in style anyway). In fact she's one of the few who actually has some respect for me. I've actually been referred to as "goth" myself, and I have no desire to hurt "you and your lot" and neither does my friend.

Preparedness is good, paranoia is not. The reason people succeed in causing the disruption they obviously want to cause is because people are so quick to react in the way they do. It's a sad state of affairs today...a good number of people seem to be terrified of packing materials.

Please note that I meant the shack of guns out on the farm as a joke.

Also, I apologize for you being offended by my statements, I've just always had a very negative view towards "goth" and things like that. Only more so the extreme ones though, if you've dyed your hair green, you've gone to far. But I don't mind if you just have friends that wear black and what not. Sorry, I obviously wasn't thinking clearly when I wrote my post, in the mists of something or other... :)

No, never green, but I did do purple...it looked good I swear. I wore a ton of black (still do. there IS a reason-it won't show the food I will inevitably spill on it) and more silver jewelery than you ever seen on one pwerson XD

Thank you for your apology, I understand how things tend to come out wrong...heck I've said some pretty stupid and offensive stuff as well.
