  1. It is probably extremely difficult to argue with the converted as they are usually the most zealous in their cause. Losing ones temper usually makes the contra party feel victorious and so he continues in his own vein without paying any heed to your arguments. By knowing his precepts and perhaps standing in his shoes, one might be able to change his outlook. Simply being right doesn't win an argument.

I know what you mean. I lose my temper very easily when I talk about politics. An Arab came on a blog and talked about how Copts are 'self hating Arabs.' When I read it, I was down right irate. Of course, I ran her out of her own blog but I regretted not acting with patience like the church tells us to do.

I heard a saying that says, "Never get into a fight with a pig, or else you both get dirty and he enjoys it."

Although, seeing tflex just down right emberass that maniac, 'we want to kill our kids and you want to build a nation' was quite funny to see. Like it or not, tflex had to speak some sense into that brainwashed guy.

Question: If the Ayatollah was the closest to Islam and the Quran if his time how come he told others to murder, encouraged children to commit suicide, and told the Iranians to hate Jews and Christians?

  2. Jared Diamond makes several good points. For example he points out the fertile lands and how they could domesticate animals in Europe. Also how the Europeans were able to manipulate certain resources to meet a militaristic society is well pointed out.

All in all it is a good book.

However this is just racial garbage, the idea that people are born superior.

  3. I hope you come to Pennsylvania so on the off chance we may graduate together. :smartass: Here are the schools I think that may interest you:

University of Pittsburgh. This university is one of the bigger ones as you can see. If you are looking at the best medical school in the country than this is it. Its prerequisites are high, and you need a 4.0 GPA. Of course, that is not true, but you need to get your deadline in on November or you will find yourself on the waiting list for a long time. It is a great university I have a brother and sister there the campus is easy to go around. University of Pittsburgh

Duquesne. This is also a nice university for the study in medicine, but it is extermely difficult. It is good in engineering and medicine. It is a Catholic school. University of Duquesne

Robert Morris University. This is probably the school of engineering and technical institution. It is one of the more popular schools in the area for engineering. Robert Morris University

Penn State. My oldest brother goes here. This is the school for architecture and engineering. It is one of the most prestigous schools in the nation. It's prerequisites are not as tough as Pittsburgh's but it is a difficult school. It's large and its campus is huge. Also, home of the famed Nittany Lion. Penn State University

Clarion University. I think this is the universtiy you are most interested in. This is regarded as the best university in Pennsylvania and specializes in law and political sciences. It is not as hard to get into as the other schools and offers a great education. Clarion University

Of course, consult you parents and guidance counselor. Here are the notable schools in Southwestern PA with the exception of Penn State.

  4. I remember going to school and walking into the classroom. The moment I walked in I saw the first plane crash as the teacher put on the news. I did not know what the big deal was until I saw buses lining up at the school. (I live in Pittsburgh where one of the plane's crashed.) To think that terrorists could have the ability to take out a school was terrible. You could tell the expression of the teacher's was not normal. All I remember was that all over every single channel was that news report.

That day, terrorists were defined but more imporantly hereoes were defined.
