My forefathers once lost a country to, and it's name is Egypt. Similarly to Lebanon we have lost to the Muslim invaders. Everyone who did not pay the heavy taxes to the Muslims were senteced to death. Thankfully my family was said to be a Greek Ptolomy of high economic status. The name Dimitry, Demitrios was said to be a station garrison left by Alexander. Anyways, war is a terrible thing. Groups planning an invasion on a nation is something that leaves you stunned and saddened. Like tflex the number of Christians in Egypt during the 70's were 30% now 10% and dropping. The Muslim Brotherhood gaining more power who knows what may happen.
I have visited Egypt twice and each time I go it becomes worse and worse. One day I walked up through the streets of Alexandria and asked my dad, 'what's so great about it, it is just a normal city.' He replied, 'it used to be great, now it is a normal city. My mother lived along the Suez canal, now we can't go there because of the wars with Israel that transpired.
I can honestly say I may not feel all the pain you do because you were born in Lebanon. However, I can't help but think 'what if' this did not all happen.

You know what is beautiful Moolapse, you live next to the place where the Colorado Rockies play baseball.
-
Gaius,
we all know Tim Cowlishaw from Around the Horn is TOMCAT.
If it's not a nickname what is it that you are searching for?
The Egyptian is now enlisted as your searching assistant.

Then Pantagathus comes, says something to Gaius. Gaius using his masterful English will say something to Pantagathus. Pertinax will come in here also using masterful English. Pantagathus will join in with his abundant languages at an attempt to counterbalance the high English usage.
And as always we will be doing this in the midst of all of this. :frusty:

OUCH! hopefully he won't mind. Customers, so demanding.
-
At least you work in the store. Sometimes during the winter I am expected to bring in carts. When it is nice out they tell me to take inventory.
-
Lost Warrior, trust me the earlier the better. I HATE NIGHTSHIFTS!!!
-
If you live in San Francisco it should not be like some other places in California. I presume the Bay cools the area and it should not get too warm.
However I'm with Gaius East Coast Bias Baby!
-
You heavy punner you.
-
Good to have you back sir!
-
I could use some libations...between editing and the Giants crap-tastic baseball skills, I'm a wee bit cranky.
Did anyone check out Rameses's Blue Jays?
Good news and bad news for Gaius Octavius:
Good- The Red Sox won't make it to the playoffs.
Bad- Neither will the Yanks!
Come on Vernon Wells and co!

If we're the future how come many people plan our demise?

LOL ever played "Skittle hockey"? It's a short lived game. Somebody always eats the puck
Not yet, although I have a feeling I will soon.
-
I agree, boredom is dangerous. One time I was so bored I started to play hockey in my basement. The ball hit the glass, then it fell and broke. Or as Bill Parcell's puts it, "Idle time, is bad time."

I've heard that a lot of the Austrians were sad about the annexation. I'm sure you have heard about the Austrian song 'Edelweiss.'
-
Viggen,
how did your family from Austria join the German army? I know this can be a sensitive issue from the articles I've read, so if you don't want to answer I completely understand.

Hakim Chisti the Tibb
Hakim is an Arabic name, and Tibb means doctor in Arabic too.
Are the herbs grown in England and Ireland comprable to that of mainland Europe? I heard that they can be different in length and depending on the type of land. Obviously the lands of England and Ireland are more lush I assume.
These pain killers are fascinating. I did not know back then that they had any types of analgesics.

Have fun!
-
Yeah, it's frustrating. I remember in Egypt, I woke up at 2:00 p.m. Have fun!
-
Wow! I have something against tatoos, kind of scary business. I would not have one if you paid me. Perhaps a tatoo on the ankle would have been better Lost Warrior.

Thanks for the reply Lacertus. Moscovy no matter what anyone says is truly a great defensive nation. I hope to visit Russia some day there's a lot of history that needs to be explored there.
By the way I love the pictures.
-
It appears Russia is more of a gold mine for history than I thought. Do you know how they got the Mongols out of their lands? I heard they used gunpowder but many sources seem to suggest otherwise.
-
I think that I have been banned from the Racist topic of Ramses!
No, I thought that people making others feel inferior was condescending. With that said Gaius I agree with you here it goes.
Seems that the Canadian Moslems want to assimilate, i.e., on their terms. They will determine what 'sin' is.Not today, not tomorrow, not ever. It's too bad I guess head scarfs and no freedom of speech will be the new trend. Not publicly funding mosques or praying besides Allah would be the new 'sin'. I think Muslims should wonder what 'suicide' means and 70 virgins up in the 'promise land' that by the way never lose their virginity means before a 'sin' is proclaimed. What are they rubber?
Too many Liberals running a country leads to disaster. If I was a Canadian Congressman I'd wonder what in the **** they are doing. By the way I hope there is not another Ayatollah coming and potentiall taking over the parliament. I lived up in Canada, they have no clue what is going on. Taking wide open risks will bread disaster. By the way I hope Iran gets destroyed in soccer tomorrow. Oh wait, is that also a sin?
