    A rather bizarre sense of humor unique does not quite do it. Although he is not the only ruler through out the course of world history who has had unusual tendencies. Elizabeth Tudor is said to have watched people getting executed while eating her meal!! So Caligula looks well quite normal in comparison lol

    Late Republic all the way!! It was an interesting part of Roman history.

    Some reformist he was trying to get his horse elected as Consul. Definitely mad with out a doubt. What sane person would try and get an animal elected to a seat in the senate?

    I suppose you are right there were mountains. The position of the province was unusual. taking a glance at a map of the Empire I would think it would be logical. Remember the man who made the decision to pull out was famous for consolidating what Rome already had!! opposed to Trajan who was more into adding province to the Empire.

    I think that he did. Mainly because Dacia jutted outside the normal line of defense and would have been very hard to defend against growing barbarian activity! So I think it was the logical choice.

    I would have liked to meet Marius. As the reforme he did with the Roman army were really amazing!!!

    He was also God of Earthquakes. As the Greeks in some books i read sometimes refer to him as Poseidon the earth shaker.
