  2. it depends on the era they would fight in. if it was in hannibals era, then hannibal probably would but if it was with alexanders era, then he probably would. but if there was a 'middle' era then i'd say alexander
  3. had another this weekend. the battles werent the best ever but the tactical was very fun as we decidd to vote down out sergeants and voted General Cartman Lee to plot out our trap for the federals. But the best part was that i met a very nice girl there who is in our battalion but for the civilian part and we got along great during the encampment and she'll be at the next event so im looking forward to that.
  4. i saw them both, the did his 3 battles with darius for the persian empire. pretty good as well. by the way, i've bought the pre order the other day and like with primus this is also my first pre order game. but i didnt get a trailor cd or anything like that, all i got was a dumb map and 2 coupons.
  5. To let everybody know, the history channel is doing a program about this game. yes about a game. the show is called Decisive Battles and they are using Rome Total War to actually recreate the battle and help explain it. imagine how incredibly awesome this show will be.
  6. there was actually no king arthur to rule over all of england but a province or region maybe. The english even think to name an heir to the throne arthur is bad luck and the kid will die. there we're 2 heirs to the throne named arthur and they both died.
  7. Went to the 141st anniversary of gettysburg this weekend and it was the best battle yet. There was over 4000 reenactors and almost as many spectators. So big infact, there we're 2 battles a day and 6 water trucks that are as big as gas tankers. There we're also film crews around and people walking thru the ranks with film cameras. i'll type up a report about it later
  8. communism is especially bad when the lazy guy who does nothing gets everything you have and you work your ass off and get nothing else special.
  9. New observations of the center of our Milky Way Galaxy have revealed the origin of radio-emitting filaments that puzzled astronomers for two decades. http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/gala...nts_040607.html
  10. communism is in a little bit of every form of gov't but to be purely a commie, thats a no no. just really stupid to not have any personal gain.
  11. 4th of july weekend. The anniversay of gettysburg. its the 141st anniversary i think. people who i talked to that went to the 140th said there was more than 15,000 reenactors there. This time its estimated between 4 and 5 thousand so its not a bad turnout
  12. im possible to answer. there are an infinate amount of "what if's" for wars.
  13. will do. Next event is the anniversary of Gettysburg. That going to have atleast 5000 people. However, we'll be union for that one Confederate is always more fun. The union guys are all old and not that nice and certainly arent nearly as funny.
  14. THIS EVENT WAS AWSOME!!!! First battle, the yanks wanted to parley with us and we tried to negotiate peace. Meanwhile, the guy next to me said everybody look slowly to the left in the bush. And as we stared trying to make something out, you could see 2 berdan sharpshooters in there. The parley failed and 3 of us stood back and tried to go after the snipers. After that, they retreated and the rest of the regiment took a canister shot. The 2 snipers fired at one of the other men with me and he went down. Meanwhile, i had just reloaded and ran around and captured the both of them but it didnt matter since there was only 4 of us left.. Second battle, we decided to take a 300 yard sneak-walk thru the woods and onto the unions flank with 5 guys. We killed the 2 berdan boys and 3 of us 5 stayed in the woods shooting at the enemy. 1 died and i went down another 50 yards and ran behind the enemy and thru the spectators and up to the canon. i walked up to the artillery officer and i patted him on the back and he said, and i quote, " oh, your just joining us then, get onto the line and shoot back." he then looked me up and down and said crap, your confederate and i said your dead. so he layes down and i killed the other officer near the artillery piece then one of the loaders turns around and i shot him(had to aim almost vertical as so i dont give him muzzle flash). so he dies and the rest of the crew i put my gun sideways and held them in a line. It was still early in the battle and the body of the army was still moving up so i said good job soldiers and i ran off to the right and into the woods near an outhouse and a 1 room schoolhouse. I continued firing from there until we over ran them and i joined in on that and as the body followed the road going thru the union camp, i went off to the left near the edge of the camp and shuffled union soldiers into the body. I then saw some guy in a black suit and overcoat with a big black top hat and he was aiming a pistol at the body from behind a tree. i got behind him and put the butt of my musket to his back and he looked back at me and said oh damn. Very fun weekend. Couldnt have turned out any better. I got another event this upcoming weekend where im going to fall in with another regiment.

  19. After Watching the HBO series 'band of brothers' i expect another great series from them. Band Of Brothers was excellent. absolutely amazing. hope this one is the same. ABC one will probably be stupid and cheap. just to bring in the people to watch it and it will suck.

BTW, i couldnt post it in the world archaeology site.
  21. Lol, you went to west virginia? no wonder it was backwords. i went out there a few times and its full of red necks and hicks. The thing is, countires cant get rich off of agriculture, its impossible. Industrialization had made these coutries rich. The saying goes, " it takes money to make money" but if you have no money, you cant make any,
  22. nope, not yet. June 12th weekend. We got together the other weekend and rolled up about 1000 cartridges. My dad also went to pennsylvania at his brothers house for fishing and he picked up 6 pounds of gunpowder. http://6thnjvol.homestead.com/ Heres our website. The recipe section is the best. MmMmMmMm to all the good stuff including the famous hardtack
  23. I remember seeing a progrm about these giants carved stone balls from them. Aparently the scientists thought they we're used to map out the stars accoring to their importance and they also thought it mapped out the area where atlantis should be.
