    Medical Treatments During Roman Times

I supose, they would have better the medical care available available to them, and probably a better diet. But soldiers would also tend to be the fitter, healthier members of society anyway, so it isnt surprising that if they avoided serious injury or death in battle that they would live longer.

    Where Is Every One From?

Im from, and want to get out of Isca (dumnonium), today known as Exeter, England. Not a lot great about it, but there are a few Roman relics .

    Medical Treatments During Roman Times

Chances are that i'd be dead, about 80% chance i reckon, i have a generaly weak imune system, but if i survived childhood, then i'd probably be fitter, healthier, and generaly better off. Cleaner air, slaves to do hard work, less distraction from doing things that are good for me (computers, school woork etc.). I have enough business acumen to avoid poverty and a bad diet, or becomeing a soldier (well, in my opinion)

The Fall Of Rome Was By Barbarians

I agree with DC, although Rome fell because it was invaded, the barbarians were only successful because of the weakened econemy, army and lack of patriotism. I think another major factor was the lack of any strong leadership. There was for a long time no stable dinasty, and the Emperors were weak and inefectual. The State changed hands so many times that no Emperor could ever stamp his authority on the empire, even if he had had the metal to do so. If there had been a Theodosius, Aurelian, or some other great govenor-general, then the barbarians wouldnt have achieved it. Lack of leadership was the death of Rome.

    The Catiline Conspiracy

I too am takeing ancient history A level, it sounds like the same one, but im doing Augustus and Augustan propaganda for the doc study. For further reading you should take a look at the coarse book list (if you havent already) it is quite extensive. I somehow doubt that Crassus thought Cataline would stand up to Pompey, or realy stand a chance against his legions, however from what i've read about Crassus is that he was an astute politician, so i guess he was just trying to stir things up. Crassus almost certainly was the richest man in Rome at the time, and probably the richest non-sovereign in the world. Cicero probably was exagerating in his texts, he never let Rome forget that it was down to his efforts as Consul that the conspiracy was thwarted. it is - as far as i've read - generaly thought by people at the time (i.e. Ceasar and other writers who i cant remember) that Cicero had a largely inflated oppinion of himself. I beleave stashes of weapons were suposed to have been found aswell as the incidentarys. Good luck with the coarse
