  1. Yes, the thoughts like that are not pleasure and can frustrate your plans and your life on the whole. I never thought about it only because I haven't time for any destructive thoughts and have my exalted aims and want to achieve them. I believe the same thoughts can evolved from idleness only. Maybe I'm wrong but I guess the more you have earthly blessings the more often you have such thoughts (and the more you have wardships the more often you want to be self-dependent and it can cause for such mood) I don't want to say that my life is so wonderful and I enjoy it constantly. I have many different problems. I think they are the higher-order problems then you have now. I think about good things only and it helps me. I know (I'm sure) my life will be great, my aims will be achieved and I will be very happy. Try to think so.
  2. I voted for Celts. It is difficult to imagine Romans without their everlasting opponent.
  3. I voted for architecture and engineering because they were really great in the Roman Empire. We use their methods until now. I believe that Roman's laws formed the basis of modern laws but I prefer to choose applied sciences.

    Krampus

Oh, it's a nice day and I even took part in that show a few time ago. (Really fun for kids!)
  5. I was in Denmark a few days ago and tested one strange dish (not so terrible, lol, more really strange for me). It was recommended for dessert like a local dish. Well, little rolls with not sweet cream, toasts, asparagus, garden radish and bilberry jam. (looks like an absolutely incredible mix from different foods but it's not bad though)
  6. Congratulations, Germanicus! IMAO: It was the best choice. lol. We are so uncontrollable gang! Sure, all barbarians will be quiet and obedient ever since.
  7. Great finds! Yes, some of them are medieval. I recognize them because they have another type of fastenings. Need to know wrere they were found because this type of fastening came into the world in 10-11AD in south of Europe but there is an opinion that it was "born" in the North of Europe and came together Saxon tribes and then extended on all Europe. That is to say they might be earlier. The Romans arrows can date middle-end 1AD. But why you so sure that they are Romans? Yeah, they might be Romans of course but in that time the most part of armaments looked very similar. Let good specialist looks on this finds at first. Need to hold them in the hands and distinguish them carefully.
  8. I think yes, the were like brokers only. In spite of the fact that Phoenician alphabet was very old (13-14BC) it was adopted too from other alfabet. The Bronze age excavations in Ugarit (Ras Shamra) showed that two branches of culture existed in proto-Phoenicia; and two alphabets were too. The first, which was adapted to the Ugaric language, used 30 signs. Its "nails", which are cuneiforms signs, point from left to right. The second system requires only 22 signs; they point left. The cuneiform signs were replaced by more linear signs, and they in turn are the basic types of the Greek alphabet. In addition to using the two new system that were developed in 13-14 BC, the main benefit of which was to facilitate the recording of economic data, the scribes did occasionaly prefer to use Egyptian hieroglyphs for the records of local members dynasty. In this they were following the example of the scribes of Byblos, who were the actually developing their own system of "pseudohieroglyphs". I think the Phoenician alphabet is reductive Egyptian only. But Phoenicians extended own alphabet on the most part of Mediterranean area. Runes... I suggest the Runes and the Phoenician (and other last) alphabet are the two absolutely different ways of writing development. They existed nearly at the same time but have different locations and roots. But Runes became transformed under the Phoenician's influence later.

    Night. Crimea.

It's one of the last paintings (canvas, oil).
  10. Thanks, Moonlapse! /bow Happy birthday, Pertinax! I wish you every success.
  11. The changes looks very good and very "Roman". I think "The Collosseum" must be "Collosseum" like "Elysium".
  12. It looks like a parad helmet which was used in different shows during late Empire. What is its real origin?
  13. Yes, you are right. I tried to imitate the styles of masters when I learned painting only. I like Dali. The greatest his picture for me is the picture with tiger, bumblebee and sleeping girl. It has very long and difficult name and I dont know how translate it on English. Do you know this picture?
  14. Yeah, it is my picture but I drew it four years ago when was in Egypt. It is pastel. I remember that my mood was some uneasy in that time and the picture looks some threatening for me. I don't remember why I drew the strange figure in the front of picture. Nevertheless I like it too. Can say that the figure is my terrible mood in that moment. My later pictures are more realistic.
  15. Europe! Well, I forget constantly about the fact that Moscow is located in Europe.
  16. I wonder how you would make a living (give an estimate) as an archeologist. Also if you were one, how would life be? Does it require lots of traveling. Oh, yes. A lot of travelings and very interesting and very hard job and have nothing to do with Indiana Johns. Where are you going to study?
  17. It is a Spartan vivid expression only. The soldier can bring his sheild himself if hi is alive. I think it could be if some soldiers brought one of died companion on their shields.
  18. Oh, sorry, I give a link on site on German but I was impressed of this "alive" picture (how the Church was reconstructed) Frauenkirche
  19. Intestingly that piramides were founded on south of Russia and in the Crimea too. I read about piramides in Britain on one of the russian sites. But the piramide which I saw myself in Crimea looked like a construct 8-9 feets hight and it was not so old in my opinion. I would like to read about piramides in Britain on other sites but couldn't find the information about it.
  20. Awesome! I thought that it is joke only but it is really work.
  21. Happy birthday! May good success attend you!
