Lanista 1 Report post Posted November 3, 2010 I disagree. I think his parents were probably killed in the subura's crime alley. Driven by rage and grief, billionaire charioteer Diocles shuns the high life and instead - knowing that Rome's criminals are a cowardly and superstitious lot - dons a costume that makes him look like a bat and wreaks vengeance upon not only the killers but any and all of a criminal ilk. caldrail 152 Report post Posted November 3, 2010 I did add my two cents worth but so far the Daily Mail seem to be ignoring it. Obviously my answer didn't have enough sex and violence in it.
Trethiwr 3 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 The key words here are 'would have'... ... also ... it's only possible to enjoy one 'endless' orgy. Ha ha, so true. Two good points. Fancy that though; a sportsman being paid more than a top politician. Couldn't happen today could it? Errrm...
Trethiwr 3 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 The article said the races were held at the Colosseum. (unless I misread it) I know the Flavian amphitheatre could house a great variety of spectacles but surely most chariot races still took place at the circus maximus and other purpose built chariot racing circuits didn't they? Kosmo 5 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 The article said the races were held at the Colosseum. (unless I misread it) I know the Flavian amphitheatre could house a great variety of spectacles but surely most chariot races still took place at the circus maximus and other purpose built chariot racing circuits didn't they? Of course, but they had to bring somehow gladiators in the story. There was also some weird mention of slave killing but this type of articles have to many errors to bother pointing each one of them.
