Which of these Empires is your favorite. Obviously if I put the Romans it would not be fun. So which of these do you like best?

Please note British Empire or Ottoman Empire are not in because I wanted to stay close to the Roman Empire.

Alexander and his splintered Macedonian 'dynasty' ruled the east for another 1 to 3 centuries before the Romans came to power. It left a legacy of hellenization that allowed the Roman conquest to take a firm hold.

Now what about the Pontic empire of Mithrades, took Greece, then Sulla came in and that was the end of that. May have been part of Ptolemic dynasty though.

I actually have a lot of interest in Egypt, which had an empire during the New Kindgom period.

But since that wasn't one of the options I went with Alexander.

If memory serves, Cleopatra was a daughter of Mithrates am I correct or is there another tie to the Macedonian line.

She carried the name Ptolemy from that line, but yes, as I recall there was relation to the Mithridatic family as well.

Hunnic Empire was cool, even though it lasted only for a pitiful 20 years Attila was a rebel! :(

Byzantium for me, Basil II won me over with his legendry victory at Kleidon (Ballithsmore) in 1014. In response to Pontus, I'm not sure if you could call them an empire. Mithridates only maintained control of his "empire" for 2 years before Sulla captured it all back and slaughtered his armies. But then again it did take the Romans three wars to finally snuff him out.

Nope she was Ptolemaic, her Dad was Ptolemy XII. She just had some Mithridatic relatives ( apparently ).
