References in fictional works not revolving in ancient times

As we all know, Hollywood Movies taking place in the ancient world already portray Romans in such an inaccurate manner.

But what about works that don't center around Rome or the ancient world?Let us discuss about References to Rome and her history in fictional works taking place in a different setting and the inaccuracies of their statement.

I'll start with my favorite Example.

Saint%20Seiya%201.jpg

In Saint Seiya, there are these warriors called Saints of Athena(See Pic Below)

saint-seiya.jpg

Whenever trouble comes to Earth, the most virtuous and strongest of teenagers in the time period are called upon by the Goddess Athena to be given the task of stopping evil. They are often the strongest humans in the world at their time periods, trained to superhuman human conditions to the point they can easily destroy strong objects such as large ice glaciers and skyscrappers with one punch, and they are often the embodiment of good and virtues. The Goddess of Wisdom gives them these special armors called "cloths" that make them even more powerful than they already are, gaining magical abilities such as Hypersonic Speed and the abilities to cast spells.Every generation in history where catastrophe is waiting to happen, Athena always calls young boys to be selected as Saints to defend the world.

Now how does this relate to Rome?

Simple:In the alternate world of Saint Seiya, history is actually the same-at least in General History Books and the Popular Media of the regular humans in this Universe.

But to those who have assocations with Athena and the Gods of the Greek underwold, they know the reality:

The various Saints of different historical periods were responsible for stopping the plans of ambitious human beings.

THEY WERE TO ONES WHO WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FAILURE OF the Spanish Armada to invade England, the failure of Napoleon's campaign to conquer Russia, and..............

THE FALL OF ROME!

From the Saint Seiya Comics(the source medium of the Saint Seiya franchise):

They literally took down great civilizations that were expanding and waging wars all by themselves!

Of course we all know that in the real world that never happened and is only fiction.

Do any know of fictional works not revolving around Rome and the ancient world that makes (inaccurate) references to Roman civilization and history to add until here? And can you explain why the references are inaccurate?

This is not meant to be serious, just an cool easy discussion!

Also please include screen shots, videos, quotes(if its a novel, comic scane, etc. showing how of the scene where these references to Rome were made!
