Roman Calvary

Hey, I have a question. Wasnt the Roman calvary sometime abolished, and they just hired auxilia calvary instead of fielding their own? If so when did this happen?

Romans began to use auxilia during the war with Gannibal. Cavalry was a weak spot of the Roman army always and many fights had been lost becouse of this. At second half 2

It was quite good as well :blink: Meant you didn't have to care all that much about them, as if they died no one could do anything because you were part of a Roman army! Genius.

Why was the Roman cav so bad?

wasnt there any horses in Italia??you would think a republic/empire who had such good soldiers,would have had a good cavalry of there own.

ive never understood this :blink::P
