caldrail 152 Report post Posted December 3, 2016 There are some commonalities in their alphabets but only a few greek loanwords in Etruscan, which is one of a couple of dozen languages spoken in Italy until the dominance of Latin in the 1st century ad (and even then, the dominance is paternal in nature and tied to occupations - there is evidence that via maternal influence the languages remained in dwindling use within Italian society for some time afterward)
