An old favorite:

"I met a traveller from an antique land

Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone

Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,

Half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies, whose frown

And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command

Tell that its sculptor well those passions read

Which yet survive, stamp'd on these lifeless things,

The hand that mock'd them and the heart that fed.

And on the pedestal these words appear:

"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:

Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"

Nothing beside remains: round the decay

Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,

The lone and level sands stretch far away." - Shelley.

And also:

"The King with half the East at heel is marched from lands of morning,

His fighters drink the rivers up, their shafts benight the air;

And him that stands will die for naught, and home there's no returning.

The Spartans on the sea-wet rock sat down and combed their hair." - A.E. Housman

And for a funny one, the last words of Vespasian - "Dear me! I think I'm becoming a god!"

The significant problems we have cannot be solved at the same level of thinking with which we created them. - Albert Einstein

Here's some more gem's from old brain box

Not everything that counts can be counted and not everything that can be counted counts

I am neither especially clever or especially gifted. I am only very, very, curious.

A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.

Albert Einstien

Who does not give thanks for the few is a liar if he says he thanks for the many. Who does not give thanks for a penny cannot give thanks for a thousand pennies.

What you leave behing is not what is engrained in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.

I have one that will appeal to most of the UNRV members.

I will give this thread the proverbial 'bump.'

Just because you're paranoid, does not mean no one's after you.
