Morphus 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2004 There were many important and great Roman persons during Roman Times. One of them was Vespasian, he managed to restore peace after the troubles in AD 68-AD69 and layed the foundation for the period of the "Good Emperors". Ursus 6 Report post Posted June 29, 2004 Augustus Caesar, for finally ending the instabilities of the late Republic. For ruling with relative restraint. For championing traditional values and morality. For funding the arts and public construction projects. For being the veritable father of the great empire. And for becoming a god after his death. ;-)
Viggen 95 Report post Posted August 15, 2004 I'd have to second Augustus as the greatest. However, the one who drew me into studying Roman history is the legend of "lefty" - Scaevola. He sure as heck would have psyched me out. hehe, nice choice Spurius... would be nice to tell us a bit about him as not every one here knows about the brave man from early times... cheers viggen
