pompeius magnus 2 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 I would go with Aphrodite, the goddess of sexual love. I mean how could you not want to be in that goddesses favor.

Pantagathus 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2005 I wonder what the psychology was being the creation of a god that was lame? Very interesting that someone brought this up... The reason Vulcan and Hephaestus (whom he was modeled after) were lame had to do with with a reality of the very early bronze smiths. (Who were viewed as gods ~2500 BC) Early bronzes were not copper-tin alloy but copper-arsenic! After years of working the furnaces the early smiths would eventually feel the poisonous effects of the arsenic exposure and would suffer from considerable nerve damage. Anyway, back to the question posed in the original post. Since there are so many to chose from I would have to say: 1. Minerva 2. Mater Matuta 3. Bacchus 4. Meditrina 5. Priapus
Lost_Warrior 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2005 My "fav" (doesn't it seem sort of...sacriligious to pick "favorites" among the Gods?) ok, the God I feel closest too...would be Jupiter. I like Mars too!
Onasander 28 Report post Posted August 12, 2005 I would have to say Pluto, though I like Promethius better, but he was not considered a god.
Ursus 6 Report post Posted August 12, 2005 My "fav" (doesn't it seem sort of...sacriligious to pick "favorites" among the Gods?) Not really, in all seriousness. In Rome it was the norm for each clan or guild to have a "patron" deity. The Julian Clan and Venus, for example.
Lost_Warrior 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2005 I too have "patron" dieties, but I don't call them "favorites" (I have favorite foods, movies, colors, etc. I have patron dieties)
