Nine Latin phrases you pretend to understand

Latin is definitively a non-dead language. It's funny the way they put in brackets how to pronounce the phrases, I read it and sounded really strange

That's an attempt at phonetic representation...it's phonetic representation for American speakers, I guess. True linguistic phonetic representation is different. Honestly, it probably helps some people pronounce them, as they have been pronouncing them poorly all along!
