OK, maybe not that miraculous given that we've had 4 translations of the Aeneid in the last year or so. Still, it's been a while since a woman translated Virgil's epic. Full story HERE.

I'm currently reading Fagle's Aeneid, I think his story telling and translation is superb, he keeps the story going at along at a fast pace and keeps it exciting, sad and entertaining all in the right places. It's thoroughly enjoyable.

 

If I were to rate the four translations I'd go for Fagles, Lombardo, Ruden, Ahl.
