docoflove1974 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 Hmmm...I'll have to think about this one...and I'm kinda busy right now. I'll come back tonight and work on it, or perhaps tomorrow afternoon. In the meantime, if someone else has one they're dying to get off their chests, so be it!

Ursus 6 Report post Posted December 2, 2008 I wasn't invited? Oh, the rub. Night's child slighted, o'er this snub! Into the fray an apple thrown Golden and round and chaos sown.
Nephele 4 Report post Posted December 2, 2008 I wasn't invited? Oh, the rub.Night's child slighted, o'er this snub! Into the fray an apple thrown Golden and round and chaos sown. Ooo, you picked a favorite of mine! You are Eris, goddess of discord, who messed up a wedding by tossing a golden apple into the mix inscribed with the words "for the fairest." And, of course, the goddesses each thought that apple belonged to them. Eris is delightfully wicked. (Great riddle, Ursus!) -- Nephele (I waive my turn, for Doc.) Caesar, please don't feel left out because you can't rhyme in English. You (and any of our other non-English members) are welcome to contribute a mythterie in non-rhyming verse, too. Just be creative -- and crafty! -- Nephele
docoflove1974 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2008 (edited) Or do what others have done...copy it from an existing source (and cite the source)! (Note, Caesar, that most of my 'poetry' is not very good, doesn't rhyme well, and definitely is out of meter.) So, my current entry...it's the response to a happening in Ovid. Who am I?: Iris came a'callin' a'knockin' on Dad's door splendid in her colors, messenger at her core. A note she brings from Juno Visions we are to send, Poor Alcyone, she will know of her Ceyx and his end. I take the shape of him All pale and broken down As she wept, on a whim Off I skip out of town! Edited December 2, 2008 by docoflove1974
