Raetia or also known as Rhaetia in ancient geography, was a province of the Roman Empire that was bounded on the west by the country of the Helvetii, on the east by Noricum, on the north by Vindelicia and on the south by Cisalpine Gaul. It comprised the area occupied in modern times by most of Switzerland,the western part of Austria, and part of Lombardy.
