Already some companies do credit rating checks on job applicants, which I think is ridiculous and an invasion of privacy. I have good credit, but I know some people make mistakes in their lives, why should they be made to always pay for it? A persons spending habits is their own damn business.

 

As far as the government is concerned, yes now they can even listen in on our conversations with impunity. I'm sure about 5% of that wire tapping has to do with terrorists.

Did you notice the other occurances that this person was involved in?

 

BTW, if you agree about the personal data, do you agree with the 'continuous control' statement?

That's the general idea. Once upon a time there were state limits on interest rates. Then the banks had their 'way' with 'our' legislators. And thus the polloi were, once again, 'serviced'. Now, loan sharks look like pikers.

 

To the other point, as the U.S. brings 'democracy' to Iwreck and Afghanistan, it takes away from its own citizenry. Something like squishing a balloon.

Well, we are democratic republics with an ever more corporate government. Is that an oxymoron?

Actually provided you make regular payments and maintain long term credit accounts, it doesn't matter if you ring up huge amounts of debt. You can easily establish 700+ credit scores while still being a financial menace to yourself. The bulk of bad credit occurs when people stop paying their debts. As such using credit scores is hardly a good indication of the potential employee anyway (and I agree it is a stupid idea).
