Well, Valens, Im not perfect, and Im not exactly the most intelligent on this topic. But thank you for clearing that up. I was reffering to the Corinthian helmet, and as a slip of speech, I did mean to say bronze, not copper. But thanks.

I also think that the crucial blow to the republic was delt by Ceasar. He was the one who crossed the line which eventually led to Augustus taking power and the republic turning into the dictatorship known as Rome.

I couldn't see that ever happening. what with all of the modern day orginizations that have all the countries bonded. Plus just the fact that the culture and religion would need to be revived, and Latin, that would be pretty hard.

A phalanx,

 

Usually had a round shield that covered from their knees to the brim of their shield. Leg guards to cover their lower legs and ankles. Short sword, called, erm, i dont exactly remember. 20 ft long spear equipped to all when in the phalanx battle formation. And the standard Greek helmet. Little eye slits and long wide face guards, main purpose was to strike fear into the enemy. That sounds about right, also a lightly armored chest plate, usually made of copper and then iron.

 

Lets see, Im going to go with the Roman Preatorian Guard.

[Gladiators]

The Thracian gladiator was considered lightly armored. He carried a very small round or square shield called Parma and a very curved sword called Sica. He wore a metal helmet with a large crest representing a mithological beast called Grifone. He wore leg guards on both legs and these guards they were very tall, covering up to the tops of his thighs.
