  1. I found venalicius listed in a Latin dictionary. Mercator servorum might work as well, but I am not sure on that. I believe it means trader of slaves. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me can help you with this, my Latin is a little rusty.

  2. I remember my Latin teaching commenting about a woman on the cover of our textbook wearing a yellow dress which meant she was probably a prostitute. Is that correct? I'm asking because I think it seems strange that prostitutes would have an assigned color of clothes to wear.

  3. Just introducing myself here, looking forward to using this site frequently in the future. Just a little about myself I took three years of Latin in high school and have been hooked on Roman history ever since.

    Do you have any particular field of Roman history you like most?

     

    If I had to pick a single topic it would be military history, but I enjoy pretty much anything.
