Here's my new blog article having a look at the plausible and less plausible realities behind the Trojan Horse legend:
The Mystery of the Trojan Horse (as usual, note that there is a book ad at the foot of the article. If you disagree with this in principle, then don't click the link.)

In summary, I look at whether the horse metaphor could have been:

  1. An actual wooden horse
  2. An earthquake
  3. Helen
  4. A siege engine
  5. A chariot charge
  6. A ship
  7. A distortion of the bloodless coup by the rogue, Piyamaradu

4 seems most likely to me.

What do you guys think? 1-7? Or A.N. Other?
