Lets say The Roman Empire is still alive sand lets say that there is a Roman like Columbus disscovers America(or what the Romans would call it)Anways the capital is Nova Roma(New Rome)Where New Orleans would have been.Feturing Markets,Circus Partheons and more.Slave System would still be on but people would have no reason to abolish it.There would be no rasisim or Discrimination laws. It's a good one. I can imagine a fantasy series based on this ... Seriously, I'm not sure if you can have slavery without some form of racism, though admittedly it depends on your definition of racism. Were Romans racist not because they discriminated on grounds of colour, which they don't really seem to have done, but because they discriminated against 'barbarians' or non-Romans and were prepared to buy and sell the outsiders?

 

By the way, the major scientific reports and discoveries resulting from Columbus's voyages were all published in Latin (some originally in that language, some translated into it for wider circulation) ... so your idea is not quite all fantasy!

Do you mean the "Pantheon" ? Please give more details about this fantasy. Why would the Romans have made voyages of discovery across the Atlantic? They had plenty of rich Asian countries to fantasize about. I can see an expedition to conquer India. What would have driven them across the cold seas? Columbus was driven by gold and spices. Please give us a reason and your fantasy will have some life.
