I have a very simple question. When Sulla rebuilt the Senate House after leveling it did he rebuild it on the same location or was it at some nearby location? And how long did this particular structure survive? Thanks in advance for any information.

Sulla wasn't responsible for the leveling of the Curia Hostillia it actually burned down in 52BC, but Sulla was responsible for restoring it, he rebuilt it in it's original location, he also built the Tabularium on the slopes of the Capitoline and raised the overall level of the Forum by about 3ft, paving it with marble and tidying up it's edges.

Julius Caesar was responsible for the rebuilding of the Curia in 44BC but unfortunately he didn't get to see the new look Curia Julia due to a nasty run in with a few angry senators! The Curia was eventually completed many years later by Augustus.
