Chick Flicks

I was recently told i am one of the few male that actually enjoys watching chick flicks, now what does that say about me?

Chick flick (also "chick's flick") is slang for a film designed to appeal to a female target audience.... Although many types of films may be directed toward the female gender, "chick flick" is typically used only in reference to films that are heavy with emotion or contain themes that are relationship-based (though not necessarily romantic)...

...to put it even more drastic, i would like to quote Jude Law`s Character Graham Simpkins in The Holiday, as he referred to himself as a weeper when it comes to romantic movies...

...to my testosterone`s defence, i have to say though, that i do not have problems to go, after watching (and weeping) The English Patient, out on the hockey field and body-check the hell out of the opposition... now what does that really say about me? LOL

...whats your ultimate chick flick?

The last one I saw was a few years ago with a now ex girlfriend: Music and Lyrics

Haven't seen one since and don't care too.

Me, I like a good drama, or an action flick that is not totally mindless. I don't watch many movies, though.

I don't like 'typical' chick flicks, not because they're romantic, but because they are usually shitty films... like a lot of 'typical' action films. But I wouldn't consider The English Patient to be a typical chick flick.

Precisely. Nothing wrong with Romance and Tragedy. But chick flicks are just Schmalz and Chocolate Box Sentimentality. Don't you just hate that Juliette Binoche ? Which is why I haven't seen the English Patient. And I'm not planning to see it either unless someone puts a gun to my head.

Lol, I actually like Juliette Binoche. I think she's a good actress.

Ok, I'm not going to mention all chick flicks I like (now that I think about it, I don't have many in my DVD collection). I'll just list one: "Under the Tuscan Sun". ;)

P.S. Here's another one that always makes me cry: "The Bridges of Madison County". It's with Clint Eastwood so not sure if that would qualify as chick flick though.
