I think I'm going to get that book too. Paine was mentioned ONCE in school. I'm interested now.

I am surprised that Tom Paine was even mentioned in a school - any school. His philosophy, I believe, is what we all want for our nation - any nation.

Oh how the times have changed. I happened to learn a decent amount about him in both grade school and college...

I think that I have mentioned this before yet it is worth repeating. I think that his body has been lost and that there may be only ONE monument to him in the US.

In fact, my Grandmother who lives near Williamsburg, VA has a ceramic figurine of both him and Patrick Henry on her book shelves...
