so -here we are at the actual effective western extremity of Hadrian's Wall-not with a built wall as such but nevertheless part of an intergrated defence structure.

An quite an impressive tidal range as well I see

Well spotted -but then the eye of the Oanii is from the sea! The range is huge, I will demonstrate by finding a shot showing a full harbour with boats afloat , whereas at low tide the Mite is fordable wearing boots, and the other Rivers dwindle very low..
