This is a list in progress of color laser printer models that do or do not print yellow tracking dots on their output.

Remember that a "no" simply means that we couldn't see yellow dots; it does not prove that there is no forensic watermarking present. (For example, the HP Color LaserJET 8500 series does not include any yellow tracking dots that we can see, but it may still include some kind of forensic marking, since the majority of earlier CLJ models did.)

Remember that a "yes" simply means that we (or another source, as noted) saw yellow dots that appeared anomalous to us. Until we decipher the marking schemes or receive other confirmation, this does not constitute proof that any particular kind of information is represented by these dots. In a very few cases, for example, they might be the result of a poor dithering technique, rather than a forensic mark.

During my current adventure to become filthy rich, i read lots of books on how to become just that. Those are financial books, self help books, books to get things done, books on making your life filled with purpose, and almost in all of them is at least one quote of Marcus Aurelius...

    ...for example;

Because a thing seems difficult for you, do not think it impossible for anyone to accomplish.

Begin - to begin is half the work, let half still remain; again begin this, and thou wilt have finished.

Do every act of your life as if it were your last.

Each day provides its own gifts.

Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.

He who lives in harmony with himself lives in harmony with the universe.

It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live.

Loss is nothing else but change, and change is Nature's delight.

The only wealth which you will keep forever is the wealth you have given away.

Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one.

You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.

...and i could go on for a long time...

    For me, the most important piece of wisdom from Marcus Aurelius is however;
Our life is what our thoughts make it.

    ...is there one?
...has anyone figured it already out?

In the meantime i go with Peter Ustinov, who once said...
The point of living and of being an optimist, is to be foolish enough to believe the best is yet to come.

You must know, in Austria, sport Nr.1 is alpine skiing. We are crazy about it. During winter season there is only one thing that will gather half of the population in front of the TV ---> a downhill race!

Now our downhillers are our true superstars, and one in particular is Hermann Maier. I was looking on Google Video if there was something about him, and indeed i found the IOC promo with his monster crash in Nagano 1998. If you look at it, one is happy he survived, but as the video says, just a few days later he won two gold medals....

Here you can see the lake i am regulary fishing.

The watery-area left ot the little river is artificially made a few years ago. It was built to give the fishes and birds a save spot to breed. It is relatively small but neverthelless just after 10 years you no longer would guess it was man-made. On the northern end you can see they are currently extending it by a bit. the whole field in the west might get be done the same way too. The city council is still negotiating with the owners...

Old castle. It looks more impressive here. The castle dates from the 14th century....

Middle of Town, here i catch my trouts. (isn`t it great that one can actually catch trouts in the middle of town? I know i am blessed...

Lake Faak. The water is so blue, you want to jump in the moment you see the lake... [pretty warm too in summer around 26 degrees celsius (79 fahrenheit)]

More lakes i can fish. All not more then 5 miles away from home...

Here i can fish the largest Salmonidae that you get in Europe, The huchen or Danube salmon gets pretty big, the official world record is 35 kg (77 pounds)

Thats it for now, i go out and get some fish now!

    My favourite 5

    5. Mamma Mia
    4. Voulez Vous
    3. SOS
    2. Fernando
    1. Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!

...but to be honest, (just like my daughter), I like all of them (for example Take a Chance on Me is just such a great song), and back in the 80s when it was released for the first time the Rolling Stone Magazine summed it up for me...:

"...there are more infectious melodies, grabby hooks, and danceable drum beats on one side of this two-disc set than in most artists' entire catalogs...

    Amen...
    (and yes, i am old)

...was about time and last chance, the old forum software was about to expire for good (meaning no more security updates).
With this 4.0 version we should be good for another 4 to 5 years and than who knows....
I am also strongly consider to change the whole site to a CMS (custom management system), with about 2.000 hand coded pages no small task, but whatever keeps one busy...

My grandma (85 years old) was invited to have dinner with my mother, so we go there in the late afternoon to pick her up. She was almost ready, just need to brush her hair, get dressed and off we go downstairs to the car...

Well she slipped at the last staircase and bang there she was lying on the floor not able to move. We tried to get her up but to no avail. So we call the ambulance, they arrive pretty soon afterwards, moved her to the hospital and there they made x-rays examinations etc...

Well she has broken her left arm, and she got some bruises on her back, but not as bad as we thought at first. My grandma seems now in good hands, she got some pills for the pain, and we will of course visit her tomorrow again...It is now 11 in the evening and i haven thought of christmas once today (in austria we celebrate christmas on christmas eve)...

but in any case, merry christmas to everyone...

This saturday i went to the first open air hockey game in austria (since well the old days), it took place in the soccer stadium of Klagenfurt in front of a capacity crowd of 30.500.
It was magic, i never expected it to be so good. The atmosphere, the view, the game (my team won).

You know, in my province hockey rulez, not soccer but hockey, always has been, so it was no surprise that despite the currently two worst teams in our league playing, tickets were sold out within 4 hours, and according to officials 90.000 requests for tickets came in....

I upload some more photos tonight...

Well this is new to me, a virus for a handheld game console!

The PSP (PlayStationPortable) has now its very own Virus/Trojan called Trojan.PSPBrick, which once installed deletes very important system files and won`t start again and is then as usefull as a brick hence the name of the Virus.

More info about the Virus are availabe at Symantec

I have now hopefully all surgeries done for this year (vene surgery for anyone who cares) and allowed to sit 15 minutes and then have to rest for an hour and so on...

I just read this article Red Bull wings its way past diet sodas

It doesnt happen often that an austrian company is known in the USA or worldwide, one example would be PEZ, yeah you heard right, thats from Austria

Now i guess everyone knows RedBull, but did you know it is from Austria? Headquarter is in Salzburg, about an hours drive from my home town.

I was wondering about one thing for a long time, is it just me or does it feel that italians of today dont really care about their "roman" heritage? I live close to the italian border and have so lots of contact with them; Every time i mention our site and that the site is about "their" glory past, they sort of shrug shoulder, maybe a "nice" and move on, no interest whatsoever.

Did i just have bad luck, or is it just the way it is, Italians dont care?

    cheers

Finally the Rugby World Cup has started, the most entertaining team sport (in my eyes at least) kicked of in France and the host already got beaten up by Argentina, a not so big surprise if you look at their last 5 encounters...

So, everyone is talking about New Zealand and how they will be the next world champion, i tell you know it is not going to be easy, i got a hunch they have to take on France in the quarter final and will get kicked out of the tournament, leaving the door open for South Africa to reclaim their 1995 title

...ok, just a day dream, but if you want to see one very exiting amazing fast winger in action,
for Bryan Habana, a rocket on the rugby field...
    Go Springbocks...
  18. Viggen
OMG, I am a prophet! As you can see on my previous post before the world cup, i did predict that New Zealand will loose against the french and that South Africa is going to be the next World Champion, (thats what happend) you may say Nostradamus to me!

What a defensive master piece of the Springboks, and what a disaster from the english site to try (first half) to make that a kicking game, when the whole world knows the line out is Springbok-Territory!

A very tense, defensive game on both sites.
Not a pretty game, but what the heck, the Boks are world champions again Yipeeeeeee

    Well, eventually a usefull invention!

A beer mat that knows when a glass is nearly empty and automatically asks for a refill has been created by thirsty researchers in Germany.

Andreas Butz at the University of Munich and Michael Schmitz from Saarland University came up with the idea while out drinking with their students.

The average reader manages about 160 to 250 words per minute (wpm). I was a till a week ago at around 260 wpm which is already a bit above the average but nevertheless not really satisfied. I bought a speed reading book and practising now for one week, having managed to finish about a third of the exercises i am currently at a reading speed of 620 wpm. Reading fast without understanding is of course not really useful, so i am glad my speed reading book has its focus on not only reading faster but also understanding what you reading. I would estimate that i will eventually get to 800 wpm without compromising comprehension.

    How fast are you reading?

I don`t know what is (is there?) wrong with me, no matter how good a new artist is, or how intriguing a new pop/rap/rock/soul/alternative/whatever song is, i quickly loose interest and get back to my good old 80`s songs...

...am i getting too old for all those new "superstars" that i dont seem to catch on? Sure, some of "my" hero`s" are still around, but there are not many that made it all the way from the eighties into todays charts, so how will todays kids feel in twenty years?
Do older folks then me cherish "their" time (if there is such a thing) like the 70s or 60s, is that just the flow of nature that your teens are the most influential period and you cant seem to move on?

...anyway, i am feeling a little nostalgic today and Vienna from Ultravox is just the right medicine for the moment!

Now that we have our first subforum, i would like to know what other topics could we make into a subfora? Keep in mind that it should be related to the parent forum and of course the main forum should be busy enough to support a split into a more specific niche...
