I'm a twenty-odd year old student. I studied Ancient History &
Archaeology in U.C.C (University College Cork).I graduated in 2011. I enjoyed
my studies immensely as it helped me further explore my interest in
antiquity. Overall I found the experience enriching. I continued to develop
my interest in antiquity by pursuing an Msc in Classics at the University of
Edinburgh. I really enjoyed my studies.
My primary area of interest, highlighted by my PG studies,
is Hellenistic Ruler-Cult, how the concept of Human Divinity was
developed by eastern potentates, as well as its reception by the citizenry of
the Hellenistic poleis.
Additionally, I am interested in how Greek civic identity was developed
and maintained during the early principate, which was a watershed, in that much
of the civic infrastructure which defined the polis as a decision making body was either
abolished or dis-empowered.
