  1. It definitely existed before the 15th century, besides the many quotes it has in other works, the text that Ive been working on quotes it too..... and it has never been translated into a modern language.... seems rather absurd lengths to take to falsify a text.

I don't think anyone is claiming it didn't exist before the 15th century.

Just out of curiosity, what work are you translating?

Really? I get weirded out everytime I see them take gigantic sampled bigger than my thumb from fossils, now this?

Why cant we just find normal lead underground? We have like.... deep mines all over the world, I cant believe they are ruined, yet a little water protects the Roman lead.

And were the Romans that much better at making high quality, pure lead that we cant begin to match them?

If you read the article it actually explains why. Lead ore gets contaminated by radiation in the atmosphere before we can make lead out of it.

All metals made after 1945 are contaminated this way. This is why the ingots are so valuable, all metal submerged before 1945 is. High grade steel from pre-1945 warship wrecks is also much wanted for scientific experiments. I believe it's also a required element in geiger counters.

  3.  When that same reader moves onto the Wars of the Jews, he will read about Titus with the same characteristics and instantly recognise Jesus as being the achetype. .

I think you've found the clue yourself here. Superficial parallels like these can (though not necessarily) be purposely based on an earlier archetype. But the thing that's borrowed is just the stylistic or literary device, not the content. The parallel of mistaken identity you mentioned somewhere may appear in both works, but this device features in countless other works and goes back all the way to Homer. There's nothing more to it unless you have other evidence.

When I read the Aeneid I find lots of things similar to Homer's works. Were they put there by design? Yes. Did Virgil invent the Homeric epics? No.

This is of course excluding the possibility that both events actually happened the way they were described and there's no link whatsoever.

  4. The Colosseum was invented by the Flavians (sorry, couldn't resist).

But yes, in fact the area where it stands used to be part of Nero's palace complex.

And incidentally, I don't believe there's any evidence for Christians being killed in the Colosseum. Except maybe the one who was set upon by the crowd for wanting to stop the games.

  5. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salmeniko_Castle

Im looking over the Morea for holdouts AFTER the fall of Trebizond. This castle looks like it has possibilities, as it lasted the longest. I can't find exact dates.

The only place I can find still remaining a imperial possession after this would be Monemvasia, I assume Thomas, the last claimant to the throne, sold it AFTER Trebizond fell, but am uncertain when the Pope actually bought it. Any point after 1461 officially extends the final end of the Roman Empire.

Of course, there were countless islands without a turkish garrison, fighting off turkish pirates for centuries, but never heard any claims of continuation from the greek community here via any island.

So, is this castle, or the seizure of Trebizond the last battle of Rome? Is this island the very last imperial possession?

The pope formally took possession in February 1461, before the fall of Trebizond.

Not that there was any empire left by then.

  6. As far as I know, it isn't. My experience is a bit dated, I have visited several times between 2002 and 2006.

A few people were to be seen around the basilica and the museum, the smaller sites were utterly deserted.

By all means go, it's a fantastic place to visit. But do your homework and/or bring a map, the interesting bits are scattered all over the place and not well marked.

Lots of interesting stuff in the region to see as well. PM me if you need more info, I don't come here very often.

  7. This thread is heading deep into David Icke territory. I'm scared..

Also note that the Greeks did not always wrote Zeus with the Z, they sometimes wrote it with an IOTA
as IEUS, As Seen on Pottery

Now if you were to drop the -s, To end up with IEU , In Hebrew Transliteration would become
YHW (YHWH), same manner between Iesous and Joshua.

Also note that the Greeks did not always wrote Zeus with the Z, they sometimes wrote it
as DIOS, As Seen on Pottery

Now if you were to drop the -s, To end up with DIO.

Zeus = RONNIE JAMES DIO???? :shocking:
