About Me

Salve,

My name is Nina and at the moment I'm a freshman in college intent on studying anything to do with art. Ever since I was a child, I've had a huge passion for the Greco-Roman era (which was probably sparked by the mythology I heard while I was growing up as a result of my Greek background) and I'm especially interested in the art, culture, music and philosophies of those times.

When I'm not reading up on ancient societies, you can find me on the computer or playing video games, sleeping (hah! I do that a lot tongue.gif), watching TV...just normal, everyday things, really. There isn't much to do where I live at the moment, but fortunately I'll be in the middle of Philadelphia when I go to college this fall, so I'll always have something to keep me occupied. biggrin.gif

Also, if you look at the picture on the side of the screen there, I'm the person on the left (the one to the right is a good friend of mine). Sorry for the bad quality...I'll have a better one up eventually. tongue.gif

nina, you are the daughter of Gaius Urbinius, a Quaestor administering in Spain in the year 74 BCE. (Your father had served under the military commander Metellus Pius in Farther Spain.) As is Roman custom, you were named for your father's gens -- "Urbinia".

Your feminine cognomen of "Nida" is from the Latin word nidus, meaning "a nest" and metaphorically referring to a nestling, or young bird. This is an affectionate nickname that was bestowed upon you by your parents.

Your full Roman name is:

Urbinia Nida

= NNURHIBBAAD -bh +ii

Thanks to Nephele for my hidden Roman name!
