I believe Emperor Tiberius poisoned General Germanicus due to Germanicus' rising popularity rate, which Tiberius felt threatened his authority. So poison was put in his meal to kill him. Germanicus' wife, Agrippina the Elder suspected Tiberius for her husband's murder. And the feud between Agrippina and Tiberius resulted in her excommunication and the arrest of two of her boys: Nero and Drusus.
