Venetiancat.com, Roman reproduction pottery/samian ware
Iulia Cassia Vegetia replied to Iulia Cassia Vegetia's topic in Trajan's Market
Salvete, We can now accept PAYPAL and major CREDIT CARDS, hopefully making it much easier for folks to pay for some of our beautiful reproductions. Because we are a custom house, lead time is needed for orders, although we do have many items in stock...so be sure to order soon You'll be glad that you did. -

GOOD idea-I've thought about it before, but I think that I'll look into it further. -

We invite you all to browse the Roman section of our website for all your feastware and utilitarian needs at: http://venetiancat.com I am posting images of our latest (and finest) wares, not yet up on our website, alongside photos of the original that they were based on . You can click on the thumbnails for a closer view. TO ORDER: Send name, address, phone #, and item name, and we will quote you a price including shipping. You can e-mail us at: bast1959@yahoo.com Sorry, we are not set up to accept credit cards-the cost would drive up the prices too much, as we are a very small company. Thanks in advance for your interest, Iulia -
Marketplace?

That sounds really cool. But there are so few people that do ancient pottery reproductions. I wonder how I could be listed... -
Marketplace?

The point is well taken Ursus, and you are quite right about your concerns. Speaking for myself, I have been an online vendor for some time, I have a good reputation for honesty (and would happily provide references) and thought that a "Marketplace" where other members who sell items that would appeal to folks on an ancient history list like this a chance for some positive exposure. UNRV should be in NO WAY have liability or be responsible however-except to ban somebody with questionable or dishonest intentions. -

How about a marketplace so that folks can find items related to the ancient world? The items would be posted by anyone in this forum who is creative and would like to try and sell something to others that would appreciate it. I have seen this on other sites, and it's a great resource.

Welcome and Introduce Yourself Here

Hi, my name is Julia, and I am an artist and ancient history buff, especially art history. I am also a reenactor whose persona is as a maker of amphorae, which I actually do in real life as well. I reproduce ancient pottery (especially Roman and Minoan) as well as paintings in the style and method of the old Italian and Dutch masters. I ran across this forum because someone posted a question looking for reproductions. But it is also a lot of fun to discuss ancient history with others who have the same passion for it as I do. Please feel free to visit my website. I have tried to make it an educational and informative site , not just a commercial one. -
Greetings, I am new to this list, and I happened to notice that someone was looking for some ancient reproduction pottery. I am a reenactor and also an artist who specializes in reproductions, especially ancient Roman, including Samian ware/terra sigiullata. Please feel free to visit my website, and don't hesitate to e-mail if you have any questions.
