I don't think Hitler could possibly be compared with these men. Granted, he could have very well been one of the greatest speakers in History, but in the end he was a man ruled by ideology. When all of his generals said one thing, he said another: the irrational; and in the end, the results showed just how it was. Considering we are the inheritors of the second WW, we no doubt will feel strong attachment to it; in probably the same manner inwhich the Romans viewed Hannibal and his war. However we are increasingly looking at WW2 in a far more objective stance, and the verdict is still the same: Hitler was a lunatic. In the future I predict Hitler will be seen in a far less emotional way, but "evil" or "cruel" will always be among the most widely used adjectives for the man. I would say his initial years will attain the same praise they do today, but the results of the war have cursed his image for all time.

Yea one of the biggest problems I have had with the show in the last few episodes was Atia living past her time. I had to flip through a few notes here and there to confirm my suspicions.

Your going to make me very paranoid

Next year I will be transfering for the city university which I currently attend and will be heading to Binghamton University, in upstate NY. The place is quite cheap but offers a great education. Anyway this is where I plan on getting my bachelors. From here I plan on moving on to Chicago University for my masters and eventual phd. But one step at a time right now. I'm still applying for Fordham University. The university is three times the tuiton price of Binghamton and I stay here in the city(NY) for it. I'm pretty confident that I will get accepted, however the hard part will be deciding between the two. Atleast I have one of them down for now.

I find it difficult since I have never read the original latin. My concern isnt the readability so much but rather the trueness of the version to the original.

Unfortunately it seems that Fangles has never released a translation of Metamorphoses. I was looking around for the best translation and so far I have been directed towards Allen Mandelbaum. What would you guys recommend as the best translation?

I original interests in Rome was originally sparked from the wars and personalities. However the more I learn, read etc. the more I find my spectrum widens. Now I am more interested in learning about the daily life of a legionary then battles inwhich he was involved. Now I am interested in Rome because I want to learn, the more I learn the more my interest diversifies, the more I want to learn.

At a time when my bank account barely hovers over the three digits, working hours are short and far between and textbook buying time has come... a cop chooses to give me a ticket... Man, my day was killed right in the morning. I looked at the parking space and it said no parking between 6am-8am(thats when the cleaning is done on that block). However I failed to notice that there was another time restriction between 9 and 11am Mon through Fri... The reason they separated the two is because the 6-8 is only on tuesdays. Bah, I felt like such a dolt... I swear NYC loves to screw ya...

I don't know about Bosnia, but churches in Albania are being built in disproportionate levels. There are all kinds of them, Protestant, Catholic or Orthodox. Infact in the capitol of Tirana there is a plan to build one of the biggest Orthodox Cathedrals in the Balkans, in the middle of a city. Just a few blocks away there is a Catholic University that overlooks one of the major streets of the capitol. There is yet to be an Islamic university and all there is so far is a madresse hidden in one of the worst streets. The Evangelicals are also given heavy manuevering space. So much so that now they want to reconvert an old church that was turned into mosque after Mehmet II conquest back into a church. I personally dislike this whole "I want this back" mentality. It's like everybody want's to erase the time period which they dislike about their history. This is especially a problem in the Balkans. This goes both ways, during major riots there were numerous mosques destroyed by Hindu's in India.
