Call me blasphemous but because it is in my mother tongue and because the lyrics are so good I almost like it more than the original 😊

I think it was in a music theory lecture that I heard Italian has the ideal ratio of vowels to consonants for singing. French supposedly has vowels too often, and German and perhaps English has consonants too often.

Anyway, here are some Reich and Glass minimalist gems from my lost tape archives:

Yeah, I remember Philip Glass for his Koyaanisqatsi 🙂

However today, as a Russian joke goes, we'll be listening to the Iranian music just to irritate the Americans 😅 (unlike the US, Russia has good diplomatic relations with Iran)

This is in fact beautiful Iranian prog-rock stuff produced before the Islamic Revolution

And in order to continue to acquaint some of the local crazy folks (incl. myself) with Russian culture here goes some Russian-made classic stuff produced the very last years before the collapse. The movie was filmed in Yalta, Crimea. The movie is sh*t, in my humble view, but it gives pretty good background coverage for a couple of music tracks

Here is a music track from a popular Russian movie of the late 80s. This is the story of 4 Russian high-school children who paid a visit to their class teacher and turned her apartment upside down for a reason, which led to her suicide when she realized that the value gap was too deep for her to handle 🙂

The first guy played at street fairs where I used to live. Then I hear he got a death sentence from his doctor so got serious about making hits beforehand. The second guy provides another sleep aid, which I need due to all night illegal drag racing nearby. Local gov't loves to micromanage obedient citizens over the sniffles, but couldn't care less about lawless threats to road safety and livable neighborhoods.
