Constantini Dafnenses

Recommended Posts

Ave, Civitas,

I am doing some research on a planned novel and I was wondering what the translation of:

Constantini Dafnenses would be in English,

Or rather, what does Dafnenses mean.  I think it refers to a sword, but I am not sure.

If it does, then would  Constantini Dafnenses translate to

The sword of Constantine

or

Constantine's Sword?

Likewise with Balistarii Dafnenses.

Balistari is a   crossbow, I think, so where does sword come in?

See why I am confused?

Thanks for your help.

Tom
