Viggen Posted February 3, 2015 Report Share Posted February 3, 2015 Polish archaeologists have released new details about ancient burials found in a huge necropolis dating back over 2,000 years, which include two tombs that likely contained princes. The burial site, located in Karczyn, Kujawy in north central Poland, is the largest to have ever been found in the country and dates from 3rd century BC to 5th century AD. This period is referred to by Polish archaeologists as the "Period of Roman Influence" due to the fact that some of the graves contained grave goods that were imported from the Roman Empire. "It turned out that the necropolis existed continuously for over 300 years, from the 1st to the 4th century AD.
