Beer v wine in Ancient Rome

The ancient Celts were notorious beer drinkers. The Romans, on the other hand, preferred their wine. There were parts of the Empire, however, where beer was enjoyed and even preferred, including Gaul, Egypt, and Britain. (See links below.)
