Recent Aquileia excavations: Rome’s forgotten city

Aquileia, located in Northeast Italy (as shown on the map below), was an important Roman city that was entirely destroyed by Attila the Hun in AD 452. Recent excavations at the site have started to reveal its enormous size (see the video below). Among the notable discoveries in the remains of the Aquileia Baths are an apse, along with fragments of statues and columns.
