Efforts are underway to restore some of ancient Pompeii’s greenery. By analyzing spores and seeds preserved at the site, researchers have successfully recreated the flora of the Garden of Hercules, which was once filled with roses, violets, rosemary, and vines. The garden is named after the statue of Hercules (seen below) found at the site.
