Large Roman coin hoard found in Germany

A hoard of 450 Roman silver coins, several silver bars, and gold artifacts, including a gold coin and a ring have been found in the Northern German city of Borsum, Germany (located on map below). From the article it is unclear the dates of the coins discovered or the nature of the hoard (for safe keeping, plunder by a barbarian tribe, etc).
