guy Posted April 2 Report Share Posted April 2 (edited) My imagined image of Julius Caesar is certainly a Hollywood-inspired image (such as the images above and below from the HBO series “Rome”) The Tusculum bust (pictured below) is the only extant sculpture thought to be made in his lifetime: This image above is consistent with coins minted shortly before his assassination in 44 BCE. guidoLaMoto Posted April 3 Report Share Posted April 3 Note that Caesar was very self conscious of his baldness and wore the hair of the temporal area long in order to comb it forward to cover the receding hairline, as well as frequently wearing a laurel wreath (they didn't have MAGA baseball caps in those days)....
