guy
Vandal artifacts have been anonymously donated to a local Polish museum. Their exact origin is unknown, though they are believed to have come from nearby farmland. Museum specialists believe the grave belonged to a high-status warrior, possibly a mounted one, because swords and pairs of spurs were prestigious items in burials of this period. The deliberate bending and breaking of some weapons is consistent with known Vandal and Przeworsk-culture funerary practices, in which weapons were ritually damaged before burial. The collection appears to come from a cremation burial and includes: A sword preserved in three fragments Broken spear and javelin heads A shield boss (the metal center of a shield) and shield handle Two spurs A belt buckle A knife fragment Parts of a bone comb A bronze fibula (cloak fastener) https://notesfrompoland.com/2026/11/06/2000-year-old-vandal-artefacts-anonymously-handed-to-polish-museum/?shem=aimgspe Edited 11 minutes ago by guy
