My state (North Carolina) is all the way tied with Florida, of all places to be tied with, its Florida! OH WELL... I still am fine living in the upper-middle class range and I plan on going to college in england to avoid the impending doom the united states faces...oh well. anyways, ouch, 51 has gotta hurt.

...Most of the worst, in the deep South. Heh...

Don't be to hard on the South though. NC didn't fare very well overall, but the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill (RTP) area is on the Forbes ten best places for business, always seems to make all the "most liveable cities" lists and the most "phds per capita" lists. I'm not a big fan of New England but I've got to admit Boston is an incredible city.

Michigan is listed in the middle of the pack, but with the way the auto industry is going, the state is in serious trouble. Jobs are being outsourced overseas on a massive scale and I believe we currently have the highest unemployment in the country... so I'm surprised to see it listed in the middle.
