Guest nan
I have a question which made me confused for a long time... In the preamble of the Parian Marble, the chronicler claims that he recorded the events from the first king of Attica down to the archonship of Dignetos. As the end of the Marble is lost, how the scholars know the year of the archonship of Diognetos is 264/263B.C.? Hopefully I can get a full answer here!
Pantagathus
Perhaps from the documentation of the Orators? However, Sir Richard C. Jebb's The Attic Orators from Antiphon to Isaeos has the Archonship of Diognetos listed as 492 B.C.(?)
