Avi!

I have seen a few threads for RTR (Rome: Total Realism) and thought of a few more mods that some of you may like

Europa Barbarorum: Most likely the definitive realism mod. Include all roman military reforms (Camilian, Polybian, Marian, and Augustian). Special attention has been payed to the 'Barbarian' factions. The Gauls being split into two factions in an effort to show the main coalitions. Buildings and units have been reworked (Really long battles and new, lots of units) incorporation of provinces into your empire has changed. You no longer simply conquer the territory. Once it falls under you control, you have to build a "Military occupation" building (Not an actual building that is visible. It just signifies that you have pacified the population) and then decide what you will do with the province (Full incorperation, Client state, ex.) which changed the income and what can be built and recruited.

Roma Surrectum (Rome Rising): This is my present favorite (I also play EB but this one I just discovered about a week ago) It's only problem is lacking the Camilian and Augustian military reforms. But it easily makes up for this with named and numbered recruitable legions. Which totally satisfied my need to march into Gaul at the head of Caesar's army. (Legio X Gallica(sp) was actually the first I recruited. That is along with my early republican forces). Each legion also have their own skins. This mod also makes and attempt at historical accuracy (But no naked barbarians :shocking:) Though not as intensively as EB (refer above).

I haven't given RTW a go in a while. This mod sounds interesting. Is it an early 'beta' version or is it complete and playable?

They have released their first version (and 10 hotfixes) It is COMPLETELY playable. They are working on another version (to add more features.) but the ones that they have now are fully implemented. I have not witnessed any bugs or CTD. I have only been playing it for a week. But hold Italy, Sicily, sardinia, corsica, Carthage, and a large chunck of spain) The Marian reforms have just happened yesterday and I have been swapping out Republician Legio I,II, and III Italia for Marian forces. And I found another really cool thing in Rome I have recruited "Caesar" Now apparently, it is a general and the description says "Campaign with this man, then when he becomes a family member make him your faction leader for him to take his rightful place. I wonder if it causes a "You marched on Roma." Even or something like that. But I'll keep you updated.
