Ancient Historian DataBase & Images of the Ancient World DataBase:

This isn't a bad idea for a site, but it is executed very badly--search is clunky and data is sparse. On both of these counts, Google Images works much better.

I agree with all you said.

 

But the whole realm of 294 images, almost all from classical artists makes it fascinating, beyond its "clunkyness." It might be something to keep available, and to leave and return to when fatigue overwhelms. A scroll through it might be informative, especially for art buffs.
